Currently rereading this book. Every autumn I like to reread one or more of the Jack the Ripper books I own, mainly because I find the subject endlessly fascinating. This 'History' gives a great deal of social and political background to help understand how Jack the Ripper's crimes impacted Victorian London, and indeed, why we are still discussing the case today.

This book is useful and informative both to the newcomer and to seasoned Ripperologists. I can;t recommend it enough. ( )
